Protech ECS is proud to announce the development and release of their first portal based program the Chemical Hazardous Inventory Classification System or CHICS. In early stage trails, moderately sized inventory FBP 500 summary reports were successfully completed within days. Chemical inventories gathered at the facility can now be uploaded into the CHICS database hosted on Protech’s SharePoint portal in real time. The CHICS program is designed to categorize compounds by hazard class and identify unclassified chemicals for evaluation. This capability of direct access and process automation has improved the time to produce the summary reports considerably.

The CHICS program utilizes the Microsoft SQL database and Microsoft SharePoint portal intelligent data processing and storage allowing the database to grow exponentially.

The CHICS service is the first of a series of EHS tools Protech ECS plans to release utilizing Microsoft’s SharePoint portal technology. Protech ECS will be demonstrating the CHICS program at the Bio2008 convention held in San Diego in June; link Bio2008.org
